Introduction

CWRDM Sub Centre, Kottayam was established in the year 1991. This Sub Centre is located in Central Kerala, near the major wetlands of Kerala ‘Vembanad, Sasthamkotta and Ashtamudi’ with the aim to study the hydrology and related problems of these wetlands. About thirty-five projects were taken-up and successfully completed by the Sub Centre in the past. The Sub Centre also collaborated and supported all the divisions of CWRDM to carry out projects successfully in Central Kerala. The research group consists of two scientists specialized in hydrology and climate sciences.
